This biryani was what my mother made for me when she wanted me to know I was loved - and forgiven! Usually after a day when I had got into trouble, she would serve this biryani for dinner. The rule in my home was that no one was allowed to go to sleep angry or upset - this was the biryani of peaceand love! This is definitely a feel good dish! (Asma Khan)

All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only. Always ensure food is piping hot throughout before serving.
Oven cook - Preheat oven to 190C, 170C Fan, Gas 5. Remove sleeve and place on a baking tray on the middle shelf of the oven. Cook for 20 to 22 minutes. Allow to stand for 1 minute. Stir and serve. Microwave - Remove sleeve and pierce film several times. Microwave (800W) for 4 minutes. Allow to stand for 1 minute. Stir and serve.
